Peter Hill-Wood the chairman of Arsenal FC is sure that Arsenal Captain Cesc Fabregas is not going to leave Gunners coming summer, it has been agreed upon by Barcelona counterpart, that they we not make any attempt to re-sign the midfielder Cesc Fabregas again in the summer. As Barcelona has been making regular attempts to sign Fabregas back to his boyhood club.

Fabregas and Massi

“There was a private conversation in the boardroom and assurances have been made at the highest level, Arsenal does not expect those to be broken. They said they are not interested this summer”, Hill-Wood told ESPN Soccernet.

According to Hill-Wood, a conversation had taken place recently as the two clubs ‘meet in Champions League on 6th April, Arsenal has wanted to end the speculation over the player’s future in England.

“Subsequent to the conversation, if they are interested at any time in the future, they would come to us direct,” added Hill-Wood. However I’m not sure they are going to do that, because they told us they are pretty happy with what they have got and are pretty happy with their current players.”

Moreover assurances could prove meaningless, however, depending on the results of the FC Barcelona presidential election coming up in the summer, which could bring in a new hierarchy at the club, which can go again this agreement.

Earlier, Barcelona’s inspirational striker Lionel Messi fanned the flames of speculation by saying he felt sure he would line up alongside his former youth team colleague again in Barcelona colours at some point.

Messi, who is just 22 years old, played alongside Fabregas at Barcelona’s La Masia academy before the midfielder left for north London in 2003. “Fabregas has a place for Arsenal in his heart but he has Barcelona in his blood,” Messi told the Daily Express. He will want to win the biggest prizes in football and I expect him to do that at Barcelona.”

Main why Fabregas is under contract to Arsenal until 2014 and has pledged his future to the club on a number of occasions.

Cristiano Ronaldo is set to become the world’s most expensive player when he seals an £80million switch from Manchester United to Read Madrid at the end of this month. The Portugal winger, who looks to be on the way out of Manchester United, claims he wants to “re-write the history of football”.

He said in an interview with French magazine So Foot as reported in the News of the World: “I love it when people jeer me. I love to see the hate in their eyes, to hear the insults. It doesn’t bother me. “He continue “It’s true lots of people hate me but there are even more who love me and who support me. I feel bad only when I play badly. Fortunately, that happens rarely. I still have a long way to go. I really want to re-write the history of football. I am aware I’m already among the best of the best but I want to continue to write many more beautiful pages.”

Ronaldo was outshone by Barcelona’s Lionel Messi in last month’s Champions League final in Rome, but the Portuguese is not interested in comparing himself to his Argentinian rival. He said: “I have nothing to envy Lionel for. I don’t compare myself to others. I am Cristiano Ronaldo – and I can win more medals than anybody else. I don’t like to relax. The fans want to see a great Cristiano Ronaldo so I try to never disappoint.”

Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has admitted that once it became clear Ronaldo was keen to join Real, there was little they could do to stand in his way.

Andres Iniesta’s injury-time leveller sent 10-man Barcelona into the Champions League final after a dramatic 1-1 draw with Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. The Spanish international rifled home a 25-yeard blockbuster in the 93rd minute to book Barca’s place in Rome, Josep Guardiola’s side had been second best for much of the game, but Iniesta’s last-gasp effort means they will face Manchester United in the European showpiece on May 27.

The Spain international struck a stunning goal in the 93rd minute to cancel out Michael Essien’s equally impressive ninth-minute strike to win the tie on the away goals rule following last week’s goalless stalemate at the Camp Nou. Chelsea were left to reflect on what might have been, although initial reaction to defeat was angry after referee Tom Ovrebo denied the hosts three strong penalty appeals.

But Chelsea were forced into changing their own tactics after 72 minutes, with Drogba hobbling off with an ankle injury. Brazilian center back Alex was booked shortly afterward after pulling Messi to the ground. The hosts then had another penalty claim waved away after Anelka was brought down by a clumsy challenge from Toure. And a third spot kick appeal was turned down when Gerard Pique handled Anelka’s deflected shot. But with just seconds remaining, midfield ace Iniesta smashed the ball home after a great pull back from Argentine wizard Messi to break Chelsea’s hearts.
